Sometimes it just seems silly for a platiff to prove their case against a defendant.  Like, how else did that piano fall on me than from out the broken window five stories up?  Did it fall from heavy?  Are you really going to make me pay legal fees for someone to prove it was your piano?!  Well, thanks to res ipsa loquitur, no!  Some things like elevators, escalators, or car accidents are just pretty obvious, and thanks to this concept, litigating these claims became just a little easier, and ain't that grand.
